I went on a hunt for the perfect white dress for summer. I love how white dresses look so chic and effortless. However, I have not purchased them very often in the past because being in a season of having young kids has made this wardrobe piece feel impractical. But guess what— my kids are getting older and also, I decided I no longer care if it totally “makes sense” from a practicality standpoint. I want to buy and wear what I like!
The white dress that I really love is outside of my budget (this one too), so I decided to search for a more affordable version that looks similar and I found, this one! It is called a midi dress but it is almost maxi length on me and I am 5’7″. It is true to size and it has pockets. I wanted to make sure to find a dress that is lined so it isn’t see through and doesn’t require some kind of under layer. Sadly, this dress is sold out now, but if you love it you can sign up for the waitlist to be notified if it is restocked. I did some more searching and came up with some other options of similar dresses like this, this, this, this, this, and this. Here are the ways that I am wearing this white dress now in the spring and into the summer months!
1.) White Dress + Straw Hat + Huarache Sandals
Dress | Denim Jacket | Earrings | Hat (old from Madewell – similar) | Sandals (old from Nisolo – newer version)

This outfit combination is classic, summer vibes. The light, airy dress, straw hat, and sandals are perfect for hot weather. Adding the denim jacket immediately makes this outfit combination spring-worthy!
2.) White Dress + Belt Bag + Platform Sandals
Dress | Bag (mine is the same style in a shiny fabric) | Sunglasses | Earrings | Sandals
The accessories in this outfit make the entire look lean towards chic and edgy. I like how the sunglasses, belt bag, and sandals bring repeated pops of black while also adding interesting shapes to this look. A hot weather win, this outfit feels elevated without adding layers.
3.) White Dress + Cardigan Sweater + Sandals
Cardigan (I sized down one size and it’s almost gone – similar) | Dress | Bag (old from ABLE – similar, similar, similar, similar) | Sandals
This combination is great for spring. It is made up of one of my favorite outfit color combinations— black, white, and tan. I love the added texture in this outfit with the rib-knit material in the cardigan and braided leather straps on the sandals. This look is easy for everyday wear!
Cardigan (similar, similar) | Dress | Bag (similar, similar) | Sandals (similar, similar)
This look is fun and bright with the pastel, rainbow cardigan. I like the light color palette (it feels happy) with how the straw handbag and slide sandals complete the look.
4.) White Dress + Knotted Muscle Tee + Strappy Sandals
Tee (I sized down one size – similar) | Dress | Sunglasses | Earrings | Sandals (gifted)
I layered up this dress in a different way by adding a muscle tee over it and knotting the tee in the front. Styling it this way makes the dress visually turn into a skirt. I love the interest that the strappy, jute wrapped sandals and small green bag add.
5.) White Dress + Sweater Blazer + Mules
Sweater Blazer (I sized down one size) | Dress | Bag (old from ABLE – similar) | Earrings | Shoes (size up 1/2 size)
I wear this sweater blazer almost all year! The only time I can’t wear it is in the peak of summer because it gets so hot and humid here. I love this combination for spring. It is another black, white, and tan combination, but with a totally different feel than the other outfit in these colors that I showed above. These bone mules have been a real winner in my wardrobe. I have gotten so much wear out of them and I love the brightness they bring to outfits— can’t recommend them enough!
6.) White Dress + Denim Jacket + Sneakers
Dress | Jacket (I sized down one size) | Sunglasses | Earrings | Sneakers
I really like this comfy and laid-back outfit combination. I love, love white sneakers with midi dresses— it is a combo I wear a lot. The oversized, washed-black denim jacket breaks up all of the white by adding some contrast. This is what I would wear to a picnic at the park!
