It seems that trousers are assertively elbowing jeans out of the way this spring.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am and will forever be a jeans girl, but I’ve been gravitating towards tailored trousers (shorts too) and wide leg silhouettes this spring. I know….it’s taken me by surprise too.
About a month ago, I picked up these tan tailored wide leg trousers. I usually have a hard time fitting into this style of pants due to my waist to hip ratio, but these work really well for me. I got my true size, medium regular, and I’d say they run true to size to slightly large. The pants are perfectly fitted yet loose on me, which is how I prefer to wear this style.
Here are some ways that I’m wearing tailored wide leg trousers this spring!
**For sizing reference my true sizes are: small/medium in tops (depends on the brand and cut, I’d say I have half and half in my closet), medium in jackets and dresses, 6/28 or medium in bottoms and I usually get regular length (I’m 5’7″), shoe size 38/7.5**
Tailored Wide Leg Trousers Outfits:
1.) White Tee + Trousers + White Sneakers
Pants (medium) | Tee (old from Everlane – similar) | Jacket (medium) | Necklace (sold out Bexley 20″ – similar) | Bag | Sneakers

Staying true to my personal style, my favorite way to wear tailored wide leg trousers is casually with white sneakers and a white tee. This combination feels simple yet interesting, put together yet laid back. The pieces are all pretty classic, but together the outfit combination feels fresh and modern. This outfit was featured in my go-to spring outfit combos post.
2.) Leather Jacket + Ribbed Tank Top + Trousers + High Top Sneakers
Jacket (I sized up one size to large) | Tank (medium) | Earrings | Necklace (sold out Bexley 20″ – similar) | Bag | Pants (medium) | Sneakers (I sized down 1/2 size)
Here I have another sneakers + trousers combo. This look feels a bit chic-er with the black accessories, but I made sure to include a pop of spring with the purple, rib-knit tank top. This is a great everyday outfit but it could also be worn for a casual night out.
3.) Feminine Blouse + Tailored Wide Leg Trousers + Mules
Blouse (small) | Earrings | Necklace (sold out Bexley 20″ – similar) | Bag | Pants (medium) | Shoes (size up 1/2)
This outfit feels the most workwear of the bunch. I love the feminine white blouse tucked into the high waisted trousers for a put together look. To finish it, I added woven leather mules and a light purple bag for spring vibes.
4.) Graphic Tee + Trousers + Sandals
Tee (old from Imogene + Willie – new options) | Earrings | Necklace (sold out Bexley 20″ – similar) | Sunglasses (black/orange) | Pants (medium) | Bag | Sandals (I sized up 1/2)
I’m super into this outfit, it’s my second favorite after the white tee and white sneakers combo. I love graphic tees and this one is from a local Nashville company. The sunglasses and bag are both super fun and feel fresh. I also really like these raffia slide sandals that I picked up recently. This look feels very end of spring, dipping your toe into summer.
