Floral prints are such a lovely expression of spring— I love wearing them. They feel feminine and happy to me.
In early spring, I wrote a review of Sezane Rome Shorts. When I found those I was browsing Sezane’s spring collection. I saw a beautiful floral print on a variety of silhouettes— shorts, skirt, dresses, tops, etc. Not long after, I saw a dupe of that print in lots of pieces at Old Navy.
The skirt specifically felt the closest to me in styling— Sezane skirt, Old Navy skirt. My clothing budget is such that I have to pick and choose what I’m investing it and what I’m finding that is more affordable. I’m sure this is a relatable thing to most!
Skirts are not something that I wear a lot, so I was happy to find a version of something that I liked for a fraction of the price. The Sezane skirt is $150 and the Old Navy version is $40 (they’re always running sales so it’s about $23 now). I actually picked up the same skirt for Hazel because she loves skirts, dresses, and twinning with mama. They have the skirt for older girls too.
I got the skirt in my true size, medium regular length, and I’m happy with it. I have a smaller waist and wider hips, so things aren’t usually tight on my waist. However, this is definitely fitted, even when worn up super high on my waist. I’d say consider sizing up if you need/want more space in the waist due to your shape or fit preferences.
Here are four ways you could wear a floral midi skirt this spring!
**For sizing reference my true sizes are: small/medium in tops (depends on the brand and cut, I’d say I have half and half in my closet), medium in jackets, and dresses, 6/28 or medium in bottoms and I usually get regular length (I’m 5’7″), shoe size 38/7.5**
Floral Midi Skirt Outfits:
1.) White Tee + Skirt + Woven Slides
Shirt (small) | Necklace (Bexley 20″ – similar same brand) | Sunglasses | Bag | Skirt (medium) | Shoes (whole sizes only so I sized up 1/2 size to 8)
If you see something you like you can shop for the item(s) and support my blog by purchasing through the affiliate links in this post. As always, I really appreciate your support!
This is a simple, everyday outfit. I grabbed my softest white tee and tucked it up to crop it with the high waisted skirt. My small, green bag adds a pop of color and my woven slides keep the outfit super approachable and relaxed.
2.) Trench Coat + Tank Top + Floral Midi Skirt + Heels
Trench Coat (old from H&M – similar, similar) | Sunglasses (same style in a new color) | Tank Top (medium, old from Target – similar) | Necklace (Bexley 20″ – similar same brand) | Skirt (medium) | Bag (old from ABLE – similar, similar) | Heels (whole sizes only so I sized up 1/2 to 8)
This outfit feels the most chic and elevated, mostly due to the trench coat, but also because of the sling back heels. This feels like a great outfit for church or brunch. I’ve been excited for pops of color in accessories, so the bag and the subtle yellow on my sunglasses both really embody what I’m loving this spring.
3.) Crewneck Sweatshirt + Skirt + Oxfords
Sweatshirt (gifted, small) | Earrings | Necklace (Bexley 20″ – similar same brand) | Sunglasses (gifted, use code MichelleT15 for 15% off) | Skirt (medium) | Bag (old from Madewell – similar, similar) | Shoes
Here is another relaxed, everyday outfit. It feels comfy and casual yet put together, which is how I love to dress. I love the sleeves on the subtly blue sweatshirt, and also the color paired with the printed skirt. I kept the accessories neutral in this look since the clothing pieces were both colors.
4.) Feminine Blouse + Floral Midi Skirt + Sandals
Shirt (small and almost sold out – similar, similar, similar, similar) | Skirt (medium) | Bag (old from Madewell – similar, similar) | Sandals (old from Nisolo – new style same brand)
I usually like to juxtapose a few styles into my outfits. However, here I leaned into one feeling and paired a feminine blouse with the feminine skirt. I kept the bag and shoes neutral and classic to help ground the look.
