I was at the mall recently and I spotted plaid pants that were an exact match to a blazer that I already own. I decided to give them a try and they ended up working well! I was able to quickly and easily put together a handful of outfits with the plaid pants. The pants fit into my existing wardrobe so well. This gave me the confidence that I’ll get a lot of wear out of them and that they’ll be a great addition to my fall wardrobe.
The exact plaid pants I have are currently sold out online. I found mine in a local store so if you live near an H&M you could check yours. Or, here are some additional plaid pants options available online: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Here are the ways I’m styling my plaid pants this fall!
1.) Matching Pants Suit: Blazer + Pants
Blazer (old from H&M – similar) | Bag (old from ABLE – new version) | Tank Top | Pants (I sized up one size) | Boots (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
If you see something you like you can shop for the item(s) and support my blog at the same time by purchasing through the affiliate links in this post. As always, I am grateful for your support!
This matching pants suit is so fun! I added cream combat boots so the outfit feels more modern and less like traditional workwear. The light neutrals help keep the outfit looking easy and not too heavy. I work from home so I am not sure where I’ll wear this yet, but I’ll keep you posted—ha!
2.) Graphic Sweatshirt + Plaid Pants + Loafers
Sweatshirt (in-store at H&M – similar) | Pants (I sized up one size) | Loafers (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your order) | Bag (old from ABLE – new version)
This was the first outfit I put together and immediately wore the day I bought these pants. This outfit feels casual and gives academia vibes between the plaid, maroon graphic and loafers. I love this slightly whimsical, everyday outfit.
3.) Cardigan + Turtleneck + Pants + Chunky Loafers
Cardigan & Turtleneck (gifted, tts – code MICHELLETOMCZAK15 for 15% off your first order) | Bag (gifted, large tote bag in black – code MICHELLE_TOMCZAK25% for 25% off) | Pants (I sized up one size) | Loafers (in-store at H&M – sold out online)
This neutral outfit feels like an elevated everyday look. The chunky loafers keep this otherwise traditional outfit combination looking modern. The black accessories make the outfit look chic.
4.) Sweater + Plaid Pants + High Top Sneakers
Sweater (tts, gifted) | Pants (I sized up one size) | Bag (gifted) | Sneakers (I sized down 1/2 size)
This outfit combination is a fun one with the pop of color in the cable knit sweater. It’s subtle, yet interesting, how the sweater pairs back to the line in the high top sneakers. The sneakers keep the outfit looking casual, which is aligned with my style preferences.
5.) Leather Jacket + Button Up Shirt + Pants + Combat Boots
Jacket (I sized up one size) | Shirt (old – similar) | Bag (gifted) | Pants (I sized up one size) | Boots (gifted – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
I love this one! I can’t wait to wear it soon. The color combination is so good. I love every detail and how they all pull together nicely— the leather jacket with the un-tucked button up shirt, the interest of the plaid, and the modern combat boots.
6.) Cardigan Sweater + Plaid Pants + Dress Boots
Sweater (gifted, tts – code MICHELLETOMCZAK15 for 15% off your first order) | Bag | Pants (I sized up one size) | Boots (gifted, tts – code TOMCZAK for 15% off)
This last outfit feels nice and classy, a perfect workwear look. It’s slightly elevated, yet wearable and comfortable. I think it would also look great with a tan trench coat thrown on as a third layer.
