An oversized denim shirt is an effortlessly cool piece— paired with jeans or trousers, worn layered/open or buttoned up, it’s a versatile spring staple item. The Sézane Max Shirt is oversized perfection. It’s available in white, striped, and a couple of shades of denim. I have the baby blue shade, which is actually a medium blue. There is a lighter one called very light denim.

So much denim is happening this spring. Denim skirts are back, in mini, midi and maxi lengths. Denim vests are everywhere, as well as cropped and oversized denim jackets. Statement jeans are dominating— from cargo jeans, to wide leg, baggy, low slung, barrel leg etc.

I love that this first outfit has a neutral base with all classic pieces. Just by adding the oversized denim shirt as an unbuttoned top layer, the outfit immediately feels more modern. This shirt also adds more contrast to the outfit and overall, it’s a super wearable look for a warm spring day.

More stripes? Yes please! I love this denim on denim look. The striped tee layered under the unbuttoned denim shirt feels laid back. The white sneakers tie back in with the white stripes on the tee, and the classic handbag adds a pop of warmth in this cool-toned outfit.

For the third outfit, I buttoned up the denim shirt and front-tucked it into white jeans. This pairing feels really crisp and spring-y. I added a pair of neutral flatform sandals, and a green handbag for a pop of color. The outfit feels very classic while the accessories feel modern and interesting— a good blend.

In this outfit, the denim shirt is buttoned up again, but this time I left it untucked. I paired it with green wide leg pants and neutral accessories. This look feels easy and wearable. I really like the added texture that the woven crossbody bag brings to the outfit.

This last look is giving 90s mom made modern. It’s denim on denim with 90s cut, light wash jeans and classic high top sneakers. My leather sling bag is replacing those 90s nylon fanny packs. : )
