The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is upon us. I know this sale can be quite controversial with some people absolutely loving it, while others feel pretty over it.
I love a good deal as much as the next gal, but I still try to approach all sales the same way— me getting the sale, not the sale getting me.
You don’t win when you get caught up in the sale frenzy and end up impulse buying and overspending. However, I think if you know what you need and how much you can spend, this sale can be really great for getting staple items and investment pieces for your fall wardrobe.
This year, I decided to narrow it down to my top ten picks from the sale. I own five of the items, and five I do not. Here are my picks:
My Top 10 Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
What I Own:
Tula The Cult Classic Cleanser Set: I use this face wash and moisturizer and have re-purchased them both a few times. They are great every day products that have worked well for my skin.
Madewell Assorted 3-Pack Bandanas: I have many bandanas from Madewell. They are such a fun accessory and easy way to add a print or pop of color to your outfit.
Levi’s 501 Original Jeans: I have this exact pair of jeans in this exact wash in my true size. This style is for you if you want a leg that is wider than the Levi’s 501 skinny jeans, but not as wide as the Levi’s Ribcage jeans.
Jenni Kayne Giraffe Print Calf Hair Mules, second color: I have these same calf hair mules but in the cheetah print rather than the giraffe print. I love the neutral pattern on these high-quality shoes, and how they add whimsey and interest to any outfit. I got my true size.
Zella Live In High Waist Leggings: I have these black leggings in my true size. I purchased them at the sale a couple of years ago and they’ve held up nicely. My favorite things about them are that they are high-waisted and they have good compression.
What I Do Not Own:
Madewell Los Angeles Graphic Tee: If you know me, you know I love a good graphic tee. Extra points to this one for using muted colors and naming off the city where I met my husband!
Sam Edelman Lex Combat Boots: Combat boots are always around but in recent years they’ve been having another surge in popularity. Last year, Sam Edelman released a couple of different combat boot styles and they were both among my favorites of the season. I think this version is equally as good. I really like the toe shape, height, and thin laces.
Clare V. Marcelle Suede Tote Backpack: I love everything that Clare Vivier designs, both her bags and apparel. I really like how this bag is convertible and can be carried like a tote or worn like a backpack.
BLANKNYC Suede Moto Jacket: I really like the style of this jacket and I love both colors. For right under one hundred dollars, I think this could be a great fall investment piece, It’s versatile and can be worn with so many different outfits.
Wayf Esther Collar Blouse: I love feminine blouses. This one has a small ruffle detail around the oversized collar, which I have also been loving. To me this blouse gives off feminine, whimsical, prairie vibes with a touch of chicness.
