You may or may not believe it, depending on what the weather is like where you live, but fall is coming! The best sale you can shop to get great fall staple items, is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

The sale preview is live on Nordstrom’s website now, so you can make a wishlist to prepare for when the sale goes live. (It may be live for you now if you have a Nordstrom card and have a high status with them, but for most of us the sale is yet to come!) Shopping dates are broken down into tiers, depending on your Nordstrom card status.

• August 4th: Icons
• August 7th: Ambassadors
• August 10th: Influencers
• August 13th: Insiders
• August 19th: The sale opens to the public and everyone can shop!
• August 30th : The last day of the sale!

My shopping strategy is to look for items that can fill a hole in my wardrobe– something missing that would work well for me. I also look to replace items that may be worn or need to be updated. The sale is mostly full of staple items and is less about trend items.

This Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is great since it allows you to get things for the upcoming season. With that said, there is a lot of hype and frenzy around this sale and it can be easy to get lost in the emotion of that. I recommend examining what you need and trying to be strategic about it. I also recommend scoping it out and getting an idea of what you want, because things do sell out. My goals is always to try to be helpful, but not to push you to make you feel like you need to buy things that you do not need. I think we can be mindful and also be excited.
