I am a huge fan of denim shorts, but it’s also nice to have a selection of non-denim shorts in my summer wardrobe. I like the variety of additional colors, textures, materials, and cuts that non-denim shorts add to my outfits. Today I am sharing three styles of non-denim shorts that I have been wearing a lot already this summer.
1.) Everlane Way High Shorts
Shirt (I sized down one size – same style in another color) | Shorts | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker – similar) | Bag | Belt (old from TopShop – similar) | Watch | Bracelet | Earrings | Sandals

Shirt (old from H&M – similar, similar) | Shorts | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker – similar) | Earrings | Bag | Bracelet | Sandals (I sized up 1/2 size)
This is a new style of shorts this summer from Everlane. I really like the ultra high rise (12.5 inches) and the length of the inseam (4.75 inches). The first pair I got was the brown color called “ash”. After receiving the shorts, I immediately ordered them in black because I like them so much! They are tailored and you can easily dress them up or dress them down— they’re very versatile.
2.) Madewell Military Shorts
Top | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker – similar) | Earrings | Shorts (I sized down two sizes) | Bag | Sandals
Shirt | Shorts (I sized down two sizes) | Earrings | Bracelet | Bag | Shoes (I sized up 1/2 size)
I had been on the hunt for green military shorts and these were exactly what I was looking for. They’re pretty lightweight and perfect for super hot summer days. One thing to note, I sized down two sizes and they still have a relaxed fit, which I love. I have a green jacket from Madewell that I’ve had for years. It serves almost as a neutral in my wardrobe, as it pairs well with so many different things. I knew these shorts would have a similar wearability. Even though I’ve only had them for about a month, I’ve worn them a lot!
3.) Abercrombie Linen-Blend Shorts
Shirt (gifted – I sized down one size) | Shorts (from last year – new version) | Bag | Sandals
Hat (old from Madewell – similar) | Earrings | Shirt (I sized down one size) | Belt | Shorts (old from Abercrombie – new version) | Bag | Sandals (old sold in whole sizes and I wear a half size so I sized up)
This pair of shorts is from last year, but they have an updated version this year. I love the material, length, and color of these shorts. They came with a matching belt that I wear sometimes (first photo). Other times, I swap the belt out for a leather belt (second photo). This pair of shorts can be dressed up or kept casual, which is what I tend towards the most.
