The white courier shirt, from Madewell, is one of the most versatile items that I have in my closet. I have had it for a few years, and it is still one of my favorites! Let’s look at five ways I have styled it, to give you a few ideas if you have this shirt, are considering getting this shirt, or if you already own a similar shirt.
For the first outfit, I wore the courier shirt fully unbuttoned over a tank top. I added some denim cut-off shorts in a darker wash for color contrast against the white shirt, and slipped on some neutral huarache sandals. Since it is summertime, wearing the courier shirt open with a tank top or crop tank, is my current favorite way to wear it. I love layering because it adds interest to outfits, but layering is not very ideal in the summer if you live in a place where the weather is really hot. However, this shirt works since it is short-sleeved and is made out of much thinner material than a sweater, blazer, or jacket.
The second outfit is a simple, everyday look. I left the top couple buttons of the courier shirt undone, and front tucked it into some cropped, straight leg denim in a light, summery wash. I slipped on my favorite white sneakers to complete the outfit. This combination is super wearable and easy, but still looks complete.
In the third outfit, I went for a more tailored, dressier look. I buttoned all of the buttons on the courier shirt and left it untucked. I paired it with black chino shorts and added my favorite cheetah mules, to bring in more visual interest to the outfit.
Outfit number four is another everyday look. I left the top few buttons of the courier shirt unbuttoned, and tucked it fully in to my highest-rise denim cut-off shorts. I added a thin, brown leather belt and brown leather mules. This feels like a classic, summer combination and would also work well with brown leather sandals swapped for the mules.
The fifth and final outfit, is a neutral dress with the courier shirt fully unbuttoned and worn as a top layer, just like it the first outfit. I added black leather loafers, a black belt bag and aviator sunglasses. This outfit feels the most dressy of the five.
