How to Style Adidas SL 72 OG Sneakers

I recently snagged a pair of Adidas SL 72 OG sneakers and I have to say, I loved them the moment that I put them on my feet for the first time. I purchased the sneakers in the Maroon / Almost Yellow / Preloved Brown color way, which I found to be incredibly easy to style with the clothes that I own.

The Adidas SL 72 OG sneakers are true to size and really comfy. I love that so many retro sneakers are being pulled from the vault and remade. These sneakers were originally made in, you guessed it— 1972. : ) They’re really lightweight, with a low profile, rubber outsole, and a nylon upper with suede overlays and leather accents. You can grab a pair from Adidas website for one hundred bucks.

Here are all of the ways I’ve worn my Adidas SL 72 OG sneakers so far. I’m sure there will be many more outfits to come!

With Shorts

The low profile design makes these sneakers really flattering with shorts because they still show your ankle bone, rather than cutting off at the ankle. The color combo also works great with any colors. As you can see in these two looks I’m wearing them with red, green, cream, and blue.

With Denim

The sneakers work great with denim, whether it’s jeans or shorts. I made sure to cuff the jeans in order to let a little bit of ankle show. These looks are neutral and the sneakers work well with them and become a focal point in the outfits.

With a Dress/Skirt

I love wearing sneakers with dresses and skirt for an overall more casual look plus style juxtaposition. With the black dress, I grabbed a casual bag to balance with the casual sneakers. For the denim mini skirt, I grabbed a basket bag to keep the look feeling summer-y.
