Go-To Fall Outfit Combos: 2023

Here they are— my go-to fall outfit combos for 2023! These pairings and combos are what I’m repeating all season long. I formulate my go-to fall outfit combos by observing what I’ve naturally been pairing together and wearing a lot lately. They are a tool I use for days when I’m feeling stuck or unsure of what to wear.

Each go-to fall outfit combo works visually, embodies my personal style, and is something I can depend on to work. Some of the combos are tried and true basic outfit combinations that many people wear. Spoiler alert: I did not invent pairing a sweater with jeans in the fall. : ) But hey— not so fast on thinking this combo is boring or uninventive. Do you know how many styles of denim and sweaters exist? The options are endless. I love that within each of my go-to fall outfit combos, you can still be really creative!

1.) Double Denim

I am always and forever a denim lover— definitely obsessed. : ) I love a double denim look. I think it’s feels super cool and laid back. This go-to outfit combo is great for every day. The look on the left is an example of double denim with matching washes, giving it a matching set appearance. The stripe shirt helps to break it up and the black repeated accents help it to feel balanced. The middle and right look are both an oversized denim shirt with jeans— one with the shirt open layered over a tee and paired with a darker wash jean, the other with the shirt buttoned and paired with a lighter wash jean. 2.) Midi Dress

Midi dresses are my favorite option for fall. I’ve been gravitating towards knit dresses and dresses in neutral tones this season. This one-and-done outfit is easy, comfy, and looks put together with little effort— just add accessories.

3.) Trench Coat + Trousers

I kind of want to wear a trench coat over everything in the fall. However, I’ve been favoring wearing them with ankle length trousers. Trench coats immediately makes an outfit more chic. I’ve been wearing this classic cut a ton. I love it so much that I have it in two colors. I also have a new one that is a bit more modern and oversized— stay tuned for outfits. with that!

Like dresses, I really like the one-and-done aspect of jumpsuits. They feel easy, cool, and put together. All you have to do is accessorize, and you’re good to go. Casual jumpsuits are a perfect, everyday outfit option.

The magic of a third piece. Layering ups the interest in fall outfits. I love jackets a ton, and have many different styles. I like adding them on top of the easiest base— a white tee and jeans.

Barrel leg jeans are my favorite cut of denim in 2023. A bold statement for a bold sillohuette. I love wearing them with so many things, but lately I’ve been favoring pairing them with button down shirts.

Who doesn’t want to live in a cozy matching set!? This is my work-from-home on a chill day, or laid-back Saturday outfit. If the set itself doesn’t have a jacket in it, I love to add one. I like a trench, military jacket, denim jacket, or bomber jacket to make a cozy matching set feel more like clothes and less like pjs.
