Today I’m going to jump right in with a bold statement— these are my favorite boots of the season thus far. They’re the EMI Lug Combat Boot in creme embossed croc from Frēda Salvador. I first saw these boots in black croc last year on a couple of friends. I thought they looked super cool and chic, but they are definitely an investment.
Fast forward to this year. I bought some white sneakers from Frēda Salvador after eyeing them for a long time and was immediately blown away by the quality, wearability, and design details of Frēda Salvador shoes. The price felt worth it because wow, I love them THAT much.
I started partnering with Frēda Salvador, a dream come true for me as a shoe lover, and was gifted these loafers. Again, I was so blown away by the quality, fit, design, and details. For fall I chose the EMI combat boots (gifted) and I love them so much, let me tell you why.
What are the EMI Lug Combat Boots made of?
The EMI lug combat boots from Frēda Salvador are made of 100% Italian leather. They have a 1.5″ foam rubber lug sole. The boots look like maybe they’d be heavy, but they’re not— they are extremely lightweight! They tie up with wax cotton laces. These exact boots come in creme, black, and khaki. They also make the EMI boots in black calf with shearling and eucalyptus suede water resistant.
How do the EMI Lug Combat Boots fit?
The EMI boots fit true to size. I got my normal size 7.5 and they’ve been immediately comfortable. I haven’t found that they need to be broken in at all. The soles feel more substantial than a completely flat boot, but not overly chunky— a perfect in-between height. I LOVE the almond toe shape. It makes the boot feel super modern, feminine, and chic.
Are the Frēda Salvador EMI Lug Combat Boots worth it?
These boots are definitely an investment at $550. Before owning anything from Frēda Salvador I was drawn to the styles but hesitant to purchase because of the prices. As I mentioned above, I’ve truly been blown away by this brand. They offer footwear that completely embodies my style, is super high-quality and I am truly obsessed. I own three pairs of shoes from them now and have considered purchasing each of the styles in a second color because I love them that much. If these shoes fit into your budget, they are 100% worth it in my opinion! You can get 15% off your first order at Frēda Salvador by using my code MICHELLE15.

This is an easy, everyday outfit combo— cardigan, jeans, and boots. The details make this outfit more interesting— the rips on the jeans, modern detailing of the boots, and texture of the cashmere cardigan. The black bag helps add some contrast and depth to the look.
2.) Turtleneck + Trousers + EMI Lug Combat Boots
Turtleneck (tts) | Sweater (tts) | Pants (gifted, tts) | Bag | Long Necklace (gifted) | Short Necklace (gifted) | Boots (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
These boots work super well with wide leg trousers because of the almond toe shape. I love the colors in this outfit and how the boots pair back nicely to the sweater that is draped over my shoulders. I like the mix of warm and cool neutral tones and that this feels dressy but not too dressy— a great workwear option.
3.) Blazer + Jeans + Lug Combat Boots
Blazer (I sized down one size) | Tank Top (same style similar color) | Necklace (similar same brand) | Jeans (tts – same style different wash) | Bag (gifted) | Boots (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
A blazer, jeans, and boots— you just can’t go wrong here. I like the contrast of the dark, tapered jeans against the creme boots. The blazer elevates the look and pairs back nicely to the soles of the boots making the outfit look balanced.
4.) Leather Jacket + Button Up Shirt + Plaid Pants + Boots
Jacket (I sized up one size) | Shirt (old – similar) | Bag (gifted) | Pants (I sized up one size) | Boots (gifted – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
This outfit gives off so many feelings— chic, relaxed, classic, whimsical, modern, feminine, edgy, and it all somehow just works. I love the mixture of the light and warm neutrals. For a more polished, workwear look, just tuck in the shirt.
5.) Sweater + Wide Leg Jeans + EMI Lug Combat Boots
Sweater (tts) | Short Necklace (gifted) | Long Necklace (gifted) | Jeans (sold out from ABLE – similar, similar, similar) | Bag (gifted) | Boots (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
I knew these boots would work with my wide leg jeans because I loved them with my wide leg trousers. This is an easy, everyday look. The fisherman style sweater is so classic, while the wide leg jeans and modern boots pull in interesting silhouettes so this look is basic but anything but boring.
6.) Cardigan + Trousers + Lug Combat Boots
Cardigan (gifted, I sized down one size to small) | Short Necklace (gifted) | Long Necklace (gifted) | Bag (gifted) | Pants (tts) | Boots (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
I really love this outfit. The more fitted cardigan worn as a shirt, paired with the trousers, and finished with the boots gives a color blocked look. The bag and light buttons on the cardigan both tie back to the boots and bring in some balance to the outfit.
7.) Plaid Suit + EMI Lug Combat Boots
Blazer (old from H&M – similar) | Bag (old from ABLE – new version) | Tank Top | Pants (I sized up one size) | Boots (gifted, tts – code MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
I am not sure where I am wearing this look since I work from home but phew— I really love it. I feel like a modern boss in this— ha! The plaid is interesting but not too bold as it’s a mix of neutrals. If you’re intrigued by the plaid pants, I have more outfit ideas with them, here.
