Today is the official first day of fall so it feels appropriate to be sharing my go-to fall outfit combos for this season this year! While it’s still warm here most days, I’ve been starting to build up my fall wardrobe over the past month or so. If you need some guidance building yours, check out this series. In a recent blog post, I shared some things I’m loving for this fall and a lot of those things can be found in the outfits that I’m sharing today.
My go-to outfit combos are the things I find myself wearing over and over again. The easiest way to identify yours is to observe what you wear. Think back over your outfits from the past week or two. If that feels tricky, you can take daily outfit photos and look back at them to see if combinations emerge. If you’d rather start from scratch, you can intentionally build outfit combos based off what you have in your closet, and by researching and saving outfits that you find on Pinterest, Instagram, Blogs, etc.
Benefits of Identifying Fall Outfit Combos:
- They un-complicate getting dressed and allow you to quickly make outfits you love.
- You can easily repeat them. It won’t get boring because you can still be creative within the combination— it’s just a framework!
- They help you better identify and understand your personal style.
Fall Outfit Combos:
1.) Shirt/Blouse + Straight Leg Jeans + Flats
Shirt (gifted – I sized down for a fitted look, stay tts for a relaxed look, use code: MICHELLETOMCZAK for $25 off your order) | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Earrings | Bag (same style in a different color) | Shoes

Shirt | Earrings | Necklace | Bag | Jeans (same style in a new wash) | Shoes (size up 1/2 size)
This is my favorite fall outfit combo. It feels the most me and embodies my casual style perfectly. It started as wearing feminine blouses, jeans, and mules on repeat. Over the past year or so, I’ve realized it has expanded as I found myself also wearing more classic shirt styles, with jeans and any style of flat shoes like oxfords, loafers, mary janes, etc. The denim is the grounding piece and from there I mix feminine and masculine or flowy and tailored. The first outfit shows a more masculine or tailored top with more feminine style shoes, while the second shows a more flowly feminine style top with a more tailored shoe.
2.) Midi Dress + Top Layer
Blazer (I sized down one size) | Necklace | Dress (old from Old Navy – similar) | Earrings | Sneakers
Sweater (I sized down one size) | Dress (old from H&M – similar) | Earrings | Necklace | Shoes (from H&M, got them at the store but not currently online – similar)
Another fall outfit combo that I have loved for awhile is a midi dress with a top layer. Sneakers are my go-to shoes to wear with this combo because they give a casual and cool feel to it, like in the first photo. However, I also love wearing these two pieces with a lug sole boot or loafer, like the second photo. The chunky, edgy shoes bring my favorite thing to a feminine dress, juxtaposition. Honestly as I analyze what I wear that is naturally what I go for, contrast and balance in a casual outfit— lots of neutrals, texture, and a bit of whimsey.
3.) Full Length Pants + Tee + Sneakers
Tee | Bag | Earrings | Pants | Sneakers
Blazer (old from H&M – similar) | Tee | Earrings | Necklace | Jeans (same style in a new wash) | Sneakers
I got these full length jeans last year, but most often wore them cuffed. This year I feel more ready for longer length pants, not just denim but trousers as well. Right now, I like full length pants best with sneakers, but I also like the look of a chunky loafer or boot. Pairing full length pants with a tee feels great to keep my outfits casual. This combo feels fresh and newer to me this year, which is fun. I love steadfast things that work and I also love new items and/or new ways to style things.
4.) Top Layer + Tee + Jeans
Jacket | Graphic Tee | Earrings | Necklace | Jeans (same style in a new wash, I got the long length and I am 5’7″) | Boots (from H&M last year sold in whole sizes only so I sized down 1/2 size – similar, similar, similar)
Jacket | Shirt | Earrings | Jeans | Shoes (sold in whole sizes only so I sized down 1/2 size)
This fall outfit combo is the most vague or open of the bunch, which means more space for creativity and different styles within this formula. I’m really noticing this season that the newer an outfit combo is to me I start off repeating it more exactly, and then as I live into a combo I see it widen and expand. If you’re a jeans and tee person, this is a super easy combo that works for all styles.
5.) Crewneck Sweater/Sweatshirt + Mom Jeans + Sneakers
Sweatshirt | Earrings | Jeans (newer wash – I’m 5’7″ and I got the long inseam) | Sneakers
Sweater ( this year’s version, another version) | Earrings | Necklace | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Bag | Sneakers
This last combo is so easy, comfy, and casual. Of the group, it gives me the most mom vibes. I could wear this combo multiple days each week. It’s very fuss-free and perfect for everyday activities.
