Spring 2025 denim is here and it does not disappoint. I’m giddy over the variety of styles happening. Each season, styles keep expanding. Gone are the one-note-denim-days of only skinny jeans. From the silhouettes to washes to detailing— denim today is an art in-and-of-itself and I’m so here for it. Let’s jump right in to spring 2025 denim trends!
Fits of Jeans:

BAGGY/SLOUCHY— this trend is continuing on this season. Lower rises and looser cuts are showing up in major ways. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
WIDE LEG— a timeless style, my favorites are high-rise and fitted on top. If the baggy/slouchy is not for you, this is another way wear denim with volume that feels easier to style. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
BARREL LEG— this love-it-or-hate-it style only continues to grow in popularity— it’ everywhere now. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
TROUSER— a fun juxtaposition between an elevated style and a casual fabric. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
UTILITY/CARGO— it’s been around for the last few years and continues to show up in new iterations. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
SLIM/STRIGHT— this is the style I see when people say that skinny jeans are coming back. They feel like skinny jeans compared to the prevalent baggy and barrel leg jeans, but they’re slim verses completely form-fitting like skinny jeans. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
FLARE/BOOTCUT— with nods to the 70’s and early 2000’s, these styles are even better than their predecessors because they’re being made in modern washes and fabrics. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
CROP— this is the best season of the year for cropped denim, when you can’t quite wear shorts yet but you want to lighten things up and highlight your spring footwear. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
STRAIGHT— in my opinion this is the most timeless style. It’s not too much of anything, and stylistically “hangs in the middle”. The perfect blank slate that can be styled with absolutely anything. Premium. Mid-Range. Budget.
Washes of Denim:

LIGHT— a mainstay for this season, lightening up outfits for a spring feeling.
MEDIUM— this go-to color is a year-long staple.
DARK— this feels like bringing the best of fall with us into spring and I’m here for it.
EXTRA DARK— often associated with fall and winter, I love that we are breaking past seasonal boundaries and wearing what we love in every season.
WASHED BLACK— creates contrast and is grounding to the lighter spring tops we’re grabbing.
GRAY— it’s been about fifteen years since I’ve owned a true gray pair of jeans, and I love that it’s making a comeback.
WHITE— bright white always feels super fresh this time of year.
ECRU— this is my personal favorite of the light washes, not too bright or too deep.
TAN— super versatile and a great side step from the indigo denim we reach for most.
Details on Denim:

BELTS/TIES— whether it’s a drawstring or added tie belt, this adds visual interest.
PINTUCKS— this is popping up this season and it’s a chic visual detail.
CHEETAH PRINT— fun if you love a statement piece. I always think this neutral print is really versatile and can be paired with any color.
TUXEDO STRIPES— I really like this when it’s tonal, a darker indigo against a light or medium wash. It gives a little denim on denim nod and feels more subtle than an added colored stripe.
PLEATS— this trouser-detailing has found it’s way onto a traditionally casual item and I love the juxtaposition.
PATCH POCKETS— bringing the retro sailor style into today.
CUFFED HEMS— this trend is continuing on and feels really applicable to spring given that cuffing crops jeans.
CARGO POCKETS— the utility style is going strong and we are seeing new version of pockets and pocket placement.
DISTRESSING— once a trend, this feels like a detailing we can now find each season for a lived-in look.
Styles of Clothing:

JACKET— a timeless, year-round staple that’s definitely a spring favorite.
VEST— both short and long styles, perfect for spring weather.
SHIRT— another timeless, effortless piece that works year round.
DRESS— a quintessential spring piece that is so versatile in denim.
LONG SHORTS— super long, slouchy, and baggy, these are popping up this season but I don’t think they will be super mainstream, but more of a fringe style.
MIDI SKIRTS— in a flowy silhouette or more fitted. I personally like the flowy style, as pictured above, as it feels versatile, casual, and comfy.
CUT OFF SHORTS— a timeless staple for super warm spring days and into summer.
MINI SKIRT— straight forward minis, or a wrap style, this early 2000s style reappeared in a major way last year and it’s still going strong.
