I recently picked up a black turtleneck sweater to add to my winter wardrobe. It’s a piece that I’ve been searching for all season long. I’ve been waiting to find the right style and fit for the right price for me. I was happy to find the one in this post from a local, Nashville brand that I really like. I wear a small to medium in tops. I got a medium in this sweater and it fits like a small. To get a fit more like the model on the website, recommend sizing up one size.
Sweater (medium) | Jeans (I sized down to 27) | Bag (same style in another color) | Earrings | Necklace 1 – similar | Necklace 2 | Shoes (old – similar – size up 1/2)

Today I’m sharing some ways that I’m styling my black turtleneck sweater this winter. A black turtleneck sweater is a classic piece that will have staying power in your wardrobe. I’m excited to have this piece not just for the end of this winter, but for winters to come!
1.) Black Turtleneck Sweater + Full-Length Jeans + White Sneakers
Sweater (medium) | Bag | Jeans (28 – same style in a new wash) | Necklace 1 – similar | Necklace 2 | Sneakers
This first outfit feels super classic, and yet the cut of the denim makes it feel a bit modern. This is a casual, everyday outfit and I love that it’s comfortable while still feeling put together. There are no repeated colors in the outfit, but I think that might be the beauty of it, it has almost a color blocked feel.
2.) Sweater + Black Washed 90’s Jeans + Bone Mules
Sweater (medium) | Jeans (I sized down to 27) | Bag (same style in another color) | Earrings | Necklace 1 – similar | Necklace 2 | Shoes (old – similar – size up 1/2)
For this next outfit I went for a black monochromatic look with a pop from light accessories. I love these bone mules, they always bring a light, freshness to outfits. It got up to about fifty degrees yesterday so mules are starting to sneak back into my outfits, which I’m thrilled about!
3.) Black Turtleneck Sweater + Long Tan Sweater Blazer + White Jeans + Combat Boots
Tan Sweater (small) | Black Turtleneck Sweater (medium) | White Jeans (28 regular) | Bag | Necklace 1 – similar | Necklace 2 | Boots
I’ve worn a version of this black, white, and tan outfit before, but with a striped turtleneck instead of the black sweater. I loved that look so much that this felt like a no-brainer. This one is full neutral vibes!
4.) Sweater + Ripped Jeans + Chunky Loafers
Sweater (medium) | Jeans | Earrings | Bag (same style in another color) | Necklace 1 – similar | Necklace 2 | Shoes (old from H&M – similar)
I admittedly haven’t worn these shoes as much as I thought I would since I got them. I actually really like them with dresses and I wonder if I might wear them more in the spring, despite their non-springy vibe— ha! We shall see. In this outfit I paired the classic, turtleneck sweater with a pair of relaxed, ripped jeans and I love the juxtaposition this pairing creates.
5.) Black Turtleneck Sweater + Green Wide Leg Pants + Ankle Boots
Sweater (medium) | Earrings | Necklace 1 – similar | Necklace 2 | Pants (pomona pants by anna allen clothing made by me with cotton/linen fabric from two o nine fabrics) | Boots (size up one half to one full size)
For this last look, I paired the black turtleneck sweater with my green, me made, pomona pants that I’ve shared quite a few times before. I love this combo and I felt like I could have honestly added just about any pair of shoes that I own with this and it would have worked. Here I’m wearing some tan, heeled, ankle boots that tie in nicely with my necklaces and honestly, my hair color!
