As the weather hits peak summer heat, I’ve found that I have been wearing a lot of simple outfits. Recently, I got these black shorts in my true size and I’ve been wearing them a lot. (I also have these with a shorter inseam from last year) Denim shorts are my first go-to, (see my favorites here) but black shorts are also a favorite of mine— they are a very versatile, summer staple item. I like them because they easily feel chic, can be worn casually, or easily elevated. Today I’m sharing five black shorts outfits that you can wear this summer!

Black Shorts Outfits:

1.) Black Muscle Tee + Black Shorts + Cognac Accessories

I love monochromatic outfits with contrasting accessories. Recently, I wore this exact outfit in white and I immediately wondered about trying it in black. I love it both ways! The cognac accessories bring warmth and contrast to the look, adding interest and making it feel more complete.

2.) Graphic Tee + Straw Hat & Bag + Slide Sandals

I really love straw accessories, they make outfits feel more summer-y. The neutral graphic tee and black birkenstocks make for a casual, everyday outfit.

3.) Feminine Blouse + Black Shorts + Black Heel Sandals

Black shorts can be elevated so easily. In this third look, I paired the shorts with a feminine, puff sleeve top, a clutch, and low, woven slide heels. This feels like a perfect date night look!

4.) Striped Tank Top + Belt Bag + White Sneakers

In this fourth look, I think the black and white repeated throughout the look is fun and interesting. It feels like casual, everyday mom vibes to me— perfect for a day at the park with kiddos.

Lastly, this outfit feels like elevated casual. The white, tailored shirt is very classic with the black shorts, while the cheetah print mules add interest and whimsey to this look.
