As a denim enthusiast, I enjoy the shift in the spring and summer from jeans to shorts! If you follow along with my posts then you already know that Agolde is my current favorite denim brand. I have worn their jeans and shorts for years. Today I am reviewing a new-to-me style, the Agolde Reese Shorts!

I wanted to try these shorts because of the length. I have had Agolde Dee Shorts for years now and the length on that style surpassed my previous favorite Agolde Parker Shorts, which are shorter. Although this year Agolde just released the Parker shorts in a long version, which I am tempted to try! They also recently released the Agolde Riley Shorts, which are also a similar length. The Riley Jeans from Agolde were my favorite jeans in my closet for a couple years before the 90’s Jeans became my go-to pair. I love the fit of the Riley jeans, so I can only imagine that the shorts are equally as flattering. How many jeans shorts is too many jean shorts? haha
Now back to the Reese shorts! The first pair I got was this light wash. It is made of 100% organic cotton, so no stretch. I am 5’7″ and I got my true size which fit me perfectly. The rise is 11″, hitting at my natural waist. (shorter than the Dee which come up to my ribcage). The inseam on the Reese shorts is 4″. They have a button-fly closure and a raw hem. The fabric does not have distressing and the wash reminds of me worn-in, vintage jeans.

Tee (similar same brand) | Belt | Earrings | Shorts | Shoes
The second pair I got was this dark wash. They are also 100% organic cotton and all of the measurements are the same as the light pair. This pair does have a small amount of distressing along the edges of the pockets, but nothing major. I purchased this pair in one size larger than my normal size, simply because I found them on sale at a boutique and they were the last pair. The waist is looser and gaps ever so slightly, but besides that they honestly do not fit that much differently than the one size smaller, light pair. I like to wear my jeans very fitted but when it comes to shorts I don’t mind if they are slightly looser. I like to have a variety of fits in my wardrobe— some more fitted and others more relaxed.
Tee (this is the “Easy Raglan” tee from Everlane and I sized down one size – new similar version) | Shorts | Shoes ( I sized up 1/2 size)
Jacket | Tank | Earrings | Shorts | Shoes (I sized up one size but 1/2 would probably be enough)
I tried the Reese shorts on with all of my favorite shoes and tops and I found that they easily go with everything in my spring wardrobe. They are really comfortable and easy for every day wear. I love that they are high-wasted by not too high and the length falls perfectly in-between short shorts and the longer 90s styles.
I hope this was helpful if you have been eyeing these shorts and wondered how they might fit! Have you tried Agolde shorts? If so, which style is your favorite? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!
P.S. Here are the table and basket you see in all the photos in this post!
[…] These shorts are also the perfect length, slight distressing, high rise (but not as high as the dee)— the perfect every day shorts. I got my true size and I have them in a light wash and a dark wash. I did an entire blog post reviewing this style of shorts and you can read, here! […]
