How does the ABLE Merly Denim Jacket fit?

The Merly Jacket is made of material that is a denim/lyocell blend which is really soft and has a lived-in feel to it. The fabric is not stretchy, but there is no stiff feeling when you’re trying to move your arms, it’s really comfortable. The jacket has some distressing, a slim fit to the arms, a drop shoulder, and it’s relaxed through the body. I’m 5’7″ and you can see in the photos what the length looks like on me. In jackets I am a true size medium and that is what I purchased. It fits exactly how I want it to. If you’re in-between sizes I would size up. I would also size up if you want to layer under it or if you prefer a looser look.

Denim jackets pair really well with trousers. I love the juxtaposition the Merly Jacket creates against my tan, wide leg trousers. Here I opted for a white shirt, making this look feel fresh and a bit spring-ish. I finished the look off with red sneakers, keeping the outfit casual and adding a small touch of whimsy.

In this second outfit I’m mixing denim in different hues— the blue jacket and black jeans. Under the jacket I have a graphic sweatshirt, another pop of red for some interest and whimsy. I finished the look with black leather accessories, a handbag and boots. This is an easy, everyday outfit combination.

A denim jacket and floral dress is a quintessential spring outfit combination. It always works whether the dress is short or long! Here I’ve added black loafers and a black handbag to finish off the look and tie back into the base color of the dress.

This last outfit works for end of spring and into summer. The Merly Jacket works really well with shorts. Here I added a floral blouse, green shorts, and tan accessories.
