How does the ABLE Bailey Classic Denim Fit?

Before I got this jacket, I had a denim jacket from Old Navy that I liked and wore for years. When I slipped the Bailey Jacket on for the first time, I was honestly amazed at how much better it was— like WAY better.

First, the fabric is so soft, yet still substantial and high-quality. There is no stiff feeling when you’re trying to move your arms, it’s just really comfortable. With that said, it’s a cotton/lyocell blend so it’s not stretchy. They describe it as “buttery soft, non-strech denim” and that description is spot on.

This jacket is handcrafted in Mexico. The cut is straight and classic and the wash is so lovely— there is no distressing on it. I’m 5’7″ and you can see in the photos above what the length looks like on me. I think it looks a lot like a vintage denim jacket. The hardware is copper, which contrasts nicely against the denim.

In jackets I am a true size medium and that is what I got in this jacket. It fits exactly how I want it to. If you’re in-between sizes I would size up. I would also size up if you want to layer under it or if you prefer an oversized look. If I buttoned mine it would probably be pretty fitted, but I never wear it that way, I always wear it open. With that said, I don’t recommend sizing down.

I really like the denim jacket paired with tailored shorts. It keeps the look feeling casual and it’s the perfect layer if you’ll be inside in air conditioning or if it gets chilly when you’re out at night.

A denim jacket works great with trousers too. Just like with the tailored shorts, this brings in a casual element to keep the look feeling like an everyday look.

I love pairing the denim jacket with a flowy maxi dress, and it works with shorter dresses too. This always ends up feeling like a put together, summer look— great for any occasion.

I enjoy a denim on denim combo. Here I paired the denim jacket with black washed jeans for a contrasted look (it would also work with white jeans). I would also pair it with blue denim as long as there was a big enough contrast in depth between the color of the jacket and color of the jeans.
