I love wearing maxi dresses in the summer months and my favorites always tend to be solids or floral prints. When I saw this dress from Sézane, I knew it would be such a lovely piece that I could easily dress up or down. Because of that thought, I figured it would be fun to do a post showing you exactly how I would style it from day to night.
Dress (gifted, I got my smaller size, 4) | Necklace (similar same brand) | Bag (old from Madewell – similar) | Sandals (whole sizes only so I sized up 1/2)
If you see something you like you can shop for the item(s) and support my blog at the same time by purchasing through the affiliate links in this post. As always, I really appreciate your support!
For size reference, I’m 5’7″ and I got my smaller size, four. The dress slightly hits the ground in the back when I wear flat sandals. It’s really close, but it does fall to the ground. This would be such a great dress for anyone my height or taller. If you’re shorter, you would have to wear heels or wedges with this, or be willing to get it tailored to your height.
The print is so beautiful! I love the small floral print and and mixture of black with the warm yellow flowers and small pops of white. This print could easily be worn in any season and I love that so much. They sell other items in this same print— another dress, jumpsuit, shorts, pants, skirt and a blouse.
Floral Maxi Dress for Daytime:
Denim Jacket (tts, medium) | Dress (gifted, I got my smaller size, 4) | Necklace (similar same brand) | Sunglasses (use code MichelleT15 for 15% off) | Bag (old from ABLE – similar, similar) | Sandals (similar same brand -whole sizes only so I sized up 1/2)
For the daytime look I picked my everyday jewelry (a gold coin necklace and small gold hoops), light tan accessories (bag, sunglasses & sandals), and a denim jacket. The denim and lighter accessories pull this dress more towards casual and more towards spring. I would wear this dress styled this way any day of the week!
Floral Maxi Dress for Nighttime:
Leather Jacket (tts) | Dress (gifted, I got my smaller size, 4) | Necklace | Bag | Heels (old from H&M – similar)
For the night look, I opted for a black leather jacket, a more substantial necklace, and black accessories (bag and slingback heels). Styling the dress this way makes it feel more chic and elevated for nighttime. I think it also feels less spring-y, but that doesn’t bother me. If I wanted to change that at all, the first thing I’d do is swap the closed toe heel for some strappy black heel sandals and go for a light, neutral blazer instead of the black leather jacket.
How would you wear this dress for day and for night? I would love to hear your ideas in the comments below.
