The classic stripe Colette Marinière from Sézane is a beautiful and timeless piece. This versatile wardrobe staple can be styled in every season, year after year. In this post I’m sharing five outfit combinations that you can wear in the spring and summer months, made with this top.
Shirt (tts, medium) | Pants (tts, medium) | Sunglasses (gifted) | Bag | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Sandals (whole sizes only so I sized up 1/2)
I partner with Sézane so the Colette Marinière in this post was gifted to me by them. I earn a small commission when you purchase items through my links and as always, I’m super grateful for your support. With that said, this blog post is not sponsored by them— I chose to write it on my own.
About Sézane:
Sézane is a French brand and I really love their aesthetic. The pieces are high-quality and so beautiful. On their website, they note that the idea behind Sézane is simple, “create high-quality, perfectly-cut pieces that can be worn forever”. They also note that they “offer all women luxury at a fair and accessible price”.
Additionally, Sézane is B Corp certified, which means they’ve met high standards in their social and environmental impact as they create products. You can read about their philanthropic program and their sustainability program on their website. I love what they’re doing and how they are doing it!
Colette Marinière Fit & Fabrication:
Sézane’s Colette Marinière is a long-sleeved, stripe shirt with a rounded neckline closed by a shoulder tab. The sleeves are described as long, but on me the sleeves are a bit cropped (I have long arms for my height), but I love where they hit.
It’s a sustainable piece, made from 100% organic cotton. I would say it’s a mid-weight fabric. It is not as light as a t-shirt and not as thick as a sweatshirt. I have the ecru/black color combination and it’s available in nine other colors paired with ecru. They offer complimentary embroidery so you can make your Colette Marinière uniquely yours.
For sizing, I am between a small and a medium in tops. On Sézane’s website, they recommend that you size up if you’re between sizes and if you’re not to stick with your true size. I got this shirt in a medium and it fits great.
This is such a beautiful top. It is very comfortable, it easily pairs with so many thing in my wardrobe, and it fits the casual chic aesthetic that I tend to aim for in my outfits. Here are some of the ways I’m wearing it now.
Sézane Colette Marinière Outfit Ideas:
1.) Stripe Shirt + Tailored Trousers/Shorts + Sandals
Shirt | Shorts (sold out from AF – similar, similar) | Bag | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Sandals (whole sizes only so I size up 1/2)
Shirt | Jacket (tts, medium) | Pants (tts, medium) | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Shoes (old from H&M – similar)
I really love this first outfit combination. I would describe it as elevated casual— simultaneously laid back and put together. The pants versions are workwear friendly. The neutral colors make it feel chic.
2.) Colette Marinière + Wide Leg Pants + Sneakers
Shirt | Jeans (tts, they do stretch out, consider sizing up if you’re pretty curvy) | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Bag (old from Target – similar) | Sneakers (I sized down 1/2 size – similar for less)
Shirt | Bag (old from ABLE – similar, similar, similar) | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Pomona Pants (made by me with this fabric – similar to buy) | Sneakers
This second outfit combo is a fun one. I love the silhouette of wide leg pants paired with the stripe shirt. As you can see from the photos above, it works with full-length pants as well as cropped pants. I love the denim and I also really love the shirt paired with colored bottoms. The sneakers keep this combo looking laid back.
3.) Striped Shirt + Shorts + Flats
Shirt | Sunglasses (same style in another color) | Bag (old) | Shorts | Shoes
Everything about this third outfit feels super classic, from the stripe top to the black chino shorts to the oxfords. Because of that, I added fun accessories for a splash of juxtaposition— a bright blue handbag and yellow rimmed, aviator sunglasses. This outfit is perfect for summer!
4.) Colette Marinière + Denim Shorts + Sandals
Shirt | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Shorts | Bag | Sandals (whole sizes only so I sized up 1/2)
Shirt | Shorts (similar same brand) | Necklace (sold out – same brand) | Bag (old from Madewell – similar) | Sandals
This last outfit combination is another great one for summer. Pairing the stripe shirt with the denim shorts and adding sandals makes for a super easy and wearable everyday look.
