Today I’m sharing a staple wardrobe item that you can wear in at least three of the four seasons, black trousers.

You can dress them up or dress them down. They’re really versatile, working in endless outfit combinations. I work from home so I prefer to wear them casually. However, they’re a great item to wear more dressed up for work or to events.

I have these black, tailored, pleated pants and I really love the fit and details. They run true to size, I got my normal medium regular. Here are some of my favorite ways to wear my black trousers.

**For sizing reference my true sizes are: small/medium in tops (depends on the brand and cut, I’d say I have half and half in my closet), medium in jackets and dresses, 6/28 or medium in bottoms and I usually get regular length (I’m 5’7″), shoe size 38/7.5**

Black Pants Outfits

1.) Denim Jacket + White Tee + Black Trousers + Sneakers

I really love this combination. A white tee with a denim jacket feels super classic and spring-y. This pairing makes for a casual feeling up top and again on the bottom with the sneakers, with the tailored, dressy pants in the middle. It’s juxtaposed yet balanced, and it’s a perfect everyday look.

2.) Trench Coat + Blouse + Black Trousers + Heels

Everything in me wanted to put sneakers on with this outfit— ha, but I wanted to show one way that I’d dress up these pants if an occasion arose that called for it. I like how the pants feel very menswear, while the blouse and sling-back heels both feel super feminine. This again feels nice and juxtaposed. The classic trench finishes the look nicely by adding a third color to the look.

3.) Graphic Tee + Black Pants + Jacket + White Sneakers

This look is ultra casual and great to wear any day of the wekk. I love the contrast of the white sneakers against the dark pants. The graphic tee adds a bit of whimsey and the oversized shacket gives it all a casual finish.

I work part-time from home, but I wore this recently to our in-person, quarterly meeting. I love how it’s a mix of put together (tailored dress pants and button down shirt) and casual (rib-knit tank and high top sneakers). The overall look feels cool + casual.
