As I’ve worked to build up my wardrobe with intention, I’ve taken a look at categories of clothing that are missing or under represented in my wardrobe. Jumpsuits is one of those categories. I love jumpsuits, but honestly they’re typically tricky for me to fit into. This is especially true if they have a tailored/fitted cut because my top is one to one-and-a-half sizes smaller than my bottom.
I want a great fit because I know it’s key in whether I wear something often or whether is collects dust in my closet (not ideal). Instead of declaring that jumpsuits don’t work for me, I decided to continue trying and searched for jumpsuits that would work for my shape. (I love a good wardrobe challenge : )
Since my style is casual, I thought something a bit oversized would be better for me than something too fitted. The challenge is, if it’s too baggy then I lose my shape up top. I know there’s a slim margin of oversized but not too oversized that works for me. Ah, the complications of fashion!
I had seen the Wendy Denim Coverall Jumpsuit from ABLE on a couple of my friends. I always thought it looked so good— so I decided to try it for myself. The reviews on ABLE’s website said the denim coveralls run true to size. However, some said the cut is a bit slim in the hips. My hips are my widest part and I’m kind of between sizes on the bottom, so I opted for the larger of the sizes I’m in-between. This jumpsuit is sized in XS-XL. I think if you’re on the low end of a size, or your figure is more straight or proportional to your top, your true size would work great.
With all of that said, I just checked and this exact style of jumpsuit is sold out. But don’t worry— ABLE has a newer denim jumpsuit. As well as this, this and this. I also found several other similar denim coverall jumpsuits from other brands. Like this, this (I love these two— they come in petite, regular, and tall and the price is great), and this one (lots of color options). This one has a skinny cut leg, and this one is lovely too!

Denim Coverall Jumpsuit Outfits
1.) Denim Coverall Jumpsuit + White Sneakers
Jumpsuit | Bag (old from ABLE – similar) | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker – similar) | Necklace | Sneakers
This first look is very straight forward— throw on a jumpsuit and add white sneakers. It doesn’t take much thought, yet it creates a put together, everyday look. I added a black crossbody bag but any color bag could go with this jumpsuit and sneaker pairing.
2.) Blazer + Denim Jumpsuit + Heels
Blazer (I sized down one size, sold out from H&M – similar, similar) | Denim Coveralls | Necklace | Earrings | Bag (old) | Shoes (old from H&M – similar)
Juxtaposition (contrast) in outfits is one of my favorite things, so I took this casual denim jumpsuit and dressed it up. I love how this look turned out. I grabbed a plaid blazer to layer over the jumpsuit, cuffed the hems to just above my ankles, and slipped into come classic black pumps. I’d wear this to a birthday party out, a date night, or low key event that doesn’t require being too fancy.
3.) Rib Knit Cardigan + Denim Coveralls + Woven Slides
Cardigan (I sized down one size, old from H&M – similar) | Denim Coveralls | Earrings | Shoes (I sized up 1/2 size)
This combo is a mix of all of my favorites— denim, woven leather, and a soft, textured sweater. I love all of these different materials together. They create a look that feels interesting yet laid back, and I feel very me in them.
4.) Denim Coveralls + Combat Boots + Bandana
Denim Coveralls | Bandana (old from Madewell – similar) | Necklace | Earrings | Boots
This look feels slightly elevated but still laid back. Adding a pair of sunglasses and a cool bag would up the cool factor even more. The deep black tones that are repeated in the bandana and boots bring balance to the look, while popping against the denim.
5.) Denim Jumpsuit + Beanie + High-Top Sneakers
Denim Coveralls | Beanie (old – similar) | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker – similar) | Shoes
For this look I removed the waist belt, which makes this jumpsuit feel even more baggy and relaxed. I feel a little bit like a mechanic, but I’m into it. haha. The beanie and sneakers reinforce the casual vibe in this outfit. The beanie also adds a pop of color and some fun. I love the mustard tone with the blue denim.
6.) Turtleneck + Denim Coveralls + Mary Janes
Turtleneck | Denim Coveralls | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker – similar) | Bag (old from ABLE – similar, similar) | Necklace | Shoes ( I sized down 1/2 size)
For this last outfit, I layered a turtleneck underneath the jumpsuit. This combination is fun, and gives me aviation vibes— the sunglasses also add to that feeling. However, I added some delicate and feminine mary janes so the look didn’t go too far in that direction. Instead, it feels soft and wearable.

[…] I really like this combo because it adds variety to my outfits that are mostly centered around jeans. Not to mention, a flowy jumpsuit is incredibly comfy. I also added a denim jumpsuit to my wardrobe recently, and you can see outfit ideas with that, here. […]
