I love putting together outfits this time of year because the colder temps make it the perfect time to wear layers in your outfits! If you have followed along with me for awhile, you might remember that I really love sweater blazers. Also I just really enjoy wearing top layers in general— give me all the jackets, sweaters and blazers! So today I am sharing six outfit ideas made with a structured, oversized blazer. (I recommend sizing down one size in the blazer linked below in this post, and it will still have an oversized look)
Outfit #1: Oversized Blazer + Mockneck Sweater + Straight Leg Jeans + Mules
Blazer | Sweater (old from Old Navy – similar) | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker) | Bag (old from Able – similar, similar, similar) | Jeans | Mules

If I had to pick a current uniform for myself this fall, it’s definitely straight leg rigid denim, mules, and any top. So this outfit is my go-to, but elevated! My fall wardrobe is mostly neutrals with some pops of color here and there. This blue sweater is one of my brightest fall pieces and I am loving it with these crisp, bone jeans and mules. The blazer tones the other colors down a bit while elevating the overall look and making it feel more chic!
Outfit #2: Oversized Blazer + Long-sleeve Ribbed Tee + Ripped Mom Jeans + Black Booties
Blazer | Shirt | Jeans (mine are a wash from last year, I am 5’7″ and I got the long length) | Bag (from Able – similar, similar, similar) | Earrings | Boots
I have paired this pair of ripped mom jeans with these black dress booties to make so many outfits and I love the combo every single time— no matter what I wear on top! These two pieces together creates such a lovely juxtaposition of casual and dressy. If you know me, you know I love contrast and mixing styles— most of my outfits are never too much of one thing. The long sleeve ribbed tee coordinates back nicely with the boots and the blazer just feels effortless on top of it!
Outfit #3: Oversized Blazer + Crewneck Sweater + Flare Jeans + Mules
Blazer | Sweater (old from Old Navy – similar) | Earrings | Jeans (I am 5’7″ and I got the long length) | Mules
I can’t get enough of rust this fall! I have worn this sweater a ton and it always looks good with blue denim because they are complementary colors. I love the shape of the oversized blazer balanced against the flare denim. The bone mules pop and brighten up this look!
Outfit #4: Oversized Blazer + Ribbed Turtleneck + Skinny Jeans + Belt + Lug Boots
Blazer | Shirt | Jeans | Belt (sold out from Topshop – similar, similar) | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker) | Bag (old from Able – similar, similar, similar) | Boots
Feeling really mom chic in this— ha! This is a tonal look with various shades of black and gray. The gray, ribbed turtleneck is just enough of a color difference to work with the gray, plaid blazer. The belt with the sleek, black skinny jeans and lug boots make this outfit feel interesting and current.
Outfit #5: Oversized Blazer + Crewneck Sweatshirt + Cropped Straight-leg Jeans + Oxfords
Blazer | Sweatshirt (H&M hand me down from my husband – similar) | Earrings | Jeans | Oxfords
This outfit is basically another variation of my go-to fall uniform, but with a slight shoe variation— oxfords instead of mules. This outfit has more of a casual vibe with the green crewneck sweatshirt under the blazer and the light wash jeans. The oxfords coordinate back to the blazer nicely as they both have a tailored look.
Outfit #6: Graphic Tee + Skinny Jeans + Sneakers
Blazer | Tee (vintage) | Jeans (old – newer wash) | Sunglasses (old from Warby Parker) | Sneakers
All the casual vibes with this outfit! Graphic tees and white sneakers are two items that are year-long favorites in my wardrobe. This look highlights that an oversized blazer can work with super dressy outfits, all the way down to super casual ones!
