I have been loving statement denim and the Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe Jeans are just that. They have a curved, wide leg that tapers at the ankle. The length is slightly cropped and the hem is frayed. The leg shape is exaggerated and the silhouette is oversized. It’s likely that you either find them very odd or very cool— they seem to be quite polarizing. I personally think they’re super fun. I’m definitely a denim enthusiast and I really enjoy having a variety of styles in my wardrobe.

How do the Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe Jeans Fit?
The website says that the Horseshoe Jeans were intended to fit relaxed and to size down if you prefer a higher, closer fit. Because of the already exaggerated leg, I did opt to size down one size so the waist and hips would be fitted on me. I’m 5’7″ and they hit right at my ankles with an inseam of 27″.
The Horseshoe Jeans are a high-rise (13 1/4″) with a button fly. They’re made of 100% cotton, and they come in a few different washes. I have the dark denim color but there is also a light denim, white, black, and tan.
Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe Jeans Outfits:
1.) Sleeveless Mockneck Shirt + Jeans + Huarache Sandals
Shirt (PR product, code: MICHELLE20 for 20% off) | Necklace (PR product, code: MICHELLETOMCZAK10 for 10% off) | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Bag (similar for less) | Shoes (PR product, code: MICHELLE_TOMCZAK for 20% off)
This first outfit is my favorite of the bunch— it’s late spring perfection. I love the colors, shapes, and textures. It’s very wearable and comfortable, yet interesting.
2.) Leather Jacket + Striped Tee + Horseshoe Jeans + Loafers
Jacket (tts for fitted, size up for relaxed, code: MICHELLETOMCZAK15 for 15% off | Necklace (PR product, code: MICHELLETOMCZAK10 for 10% off) | Short Necklace (PR product) | Tee (tts) | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Bag (PR product, code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off) | Shoes (sold out, tts, black version, code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
I wore this second look to a friend’s birthday lunch at a fun restaurant downtown. I can’t get enough of striped tees, sling bags, and statement denim this spring. The loafers and striped tee are classic, while the leather jacket elevates the outfit and makes it feel more chic.
3.) Striped Sweater + Jeans + Boots
Sweater (PR product, tts) | Sunglasses | Bag (PR product, code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order) | Boots (PR product, tts, code: TOMCZAK for 15% off) | Jeans (I sized down one size)
For the third outfit, I paired low dress boots with the horseshoe jeans and I love the combo. I added a classic, striped sweater, sling bag, and sunnies. Overall this outfit feels everyday elevated and it would work well in spring or fall.
4.) Graphic Sweatshirt + Horseshoe Jeans + Sneakers
Sweatshirt (sold out from H&M) | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Necklace (PR product, code: MICHELLETOMCZAK10 for 10% off) | Short Necklace (PR product) | Honey Envelope Crossbody (PR product) | Sneakers (men’s 6.5 and I wear 7.5)
This outfit is the most relaxed. I mixed the jeans with casual elements— a graphic sweatshirt and sneakers. The outfit feels laid back, but thanks to the shape of the jeans, not basic.
5.) Oversized Button-Up Shirt + Horseshoe Jeans + Fisherman Sandals
Shirt (tts for an oversized look) | Necklace (PR product, code: MICHELLETOMCZAK10 for 10% off) | Short Necklace (PR product) | Bag (PR product) | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Sandals (PR product, tts, code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
This outfit is my second favorite. It feels modern, fresh, and very spring-y. I love the details on each piece— stripes on the shirt, shape of the jeans, studs on the sandals, and shape and color of the bag. It all feels interesting and it just works. I like how the pop of green adds a third color and more dimension to the look.
6.) Feminine Blouse + Jeans + Sneakers
Blouse (old from Old Navy – similar) | Bag (PR product, code: MICHELLE_TOMCZAK for 20% off) | Jeans (I sized down one size) | Shoes (tts, code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order)
I always, always love a feminine blouse with jeans. White blouses in the spring feel so fresh. I opted for white sneakers to tie back in with the white blouse and a tan, woven leather, crossbody bag to bring warmth to the outfit. This look is a super wearable, everyday outfit for spring.
The Horseshoe Jeans are an investment. I love them and I think they’re worth it, but if you’re looking for a more affordable version, I found a similar style for about one-third the price. I can’t speak to the fit as I’ve never tried them on, but you can check them out here if you’re interested.
