Cargo pants are back. I remember having cargo jeans from Gap back in either eighth or ninth grade. They were a flare or boot cut with pockets on the side of the legs with little tabs on them. It’s been nearly 25 years since I’ve owned a pair, but they’re back and I love Agolde’s take on the trend with their Cooper Cargo jeans.
The Cooper Cargo jeans were released, and sold out basically everywhere you could find them online. I was happy to be able to grab a pair to try out and share with you. Don’t worry, if you end up loving them, they will be restocked and you can order them on pre-order now.
How do Agolde Cooper Cargo jeans fit?
I got the Cooper Cargo jeans in my true size, as recommended on the website. The fit is described as relaxed. When I purchase 100% cotton denim, if I want them to remain fitted over time as they relax, I know I need to buy them extra tight. If I get them and they fit just right or have a little bit a space, I know they will relax and not be tight, and instead be more relaxed and not form-fitting. For the intended relaxed fit that these were designed for, stay true to size. You would have to size down if you want them to be super fitted. I am really happy with my true size.
This jean is a 12″ high-rise with a zip closure. It has flat, utilitarian pockets on the front of the legs, and flap pockets in the back. It has a relaxed, straight-leg cut with a 28.5″ inseam. These jeans are a sleeker and less aggressive take on traditional cargo pants, making them super wearable. I have them in the dark wash called “regulation”. These are sustainable, made from 100% organic cotton. They are also available in a lighter wash, and a white wash.
Are Agolde Jeans Worth the price?
The Cooper Cargo jeans are priced at $228. These are the priciest Agolde jeans that I’ve ever purchased. With that said, I am a big Agolde fan and have owned so many different styles from the brand. I’m always so impressed with the designs, fit, details, washes, quality, etc.— they’re just SO good. Agolde jeans are definitely premium denim and an investment, but I think the prices are good considering they use 100% organic cotton and if you shop around, they’re less expensive than other premium denim brands. In my opinion, these jeans are worth the price!

I love this first look. It’s casual, with great details and it leans a bit towards spring with the fresh white tee and sneakers. The jeans are the star of the outfit as they’re framed by all neutral pieces.
2.) Striped Sweater + Cargo Jeans + Sling Bag + Oxfords
Sweater (I sized down one size) | Short Necklace (gifted) | Long Necklace (gifted – similar same brand) | Bag (gifted) | Jeans | Shoes (old from Frēda Salvador – similar – code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off your first order, similar – code:MICHELLE_20 for 20% off)
This second outfit feels modern and casual chic. Stripes are always one of my favorite classics, and the sling bag and d’orsay oxfords bring in modern elements. Overall this is a super wearable, everyday outfit.
3.) Moto Jacket + Graphic Sweatshirt + Jeans + Sneakers
Jacket (gifted, I sized up one size to layer underneath, stay tts for a fitted look) | Sweatshirt (I sized up one for an oversized look) | Short Necklace (gifted) | Long Necklace (gifted – similar same brand) | Jeans (tts for a relaxed look) | Bag (gifted) | Sneakers (I sized down 1/2 size)
This one feels very me. I love graphic sweatshirts as they feel comfortable, casual and cool. I feel the same way about sneakers. The moto jacket layered on top and the green bucket bag both add interesting elements and keep this outfit from looking too “Saturday morning”. : )
4.) Black Blazer + White Tee + Cargo Jeans + Black Dress Boots
Blazer (I sized down one) | Shirt | Short Necklace (gifted) | Long Necklace (gifted – similar same brand) | Belt | Jeans | Bag (gifted, large black tote bag) | Boots (sold out from Frēda Salvador – similar, code: MICHELLE15 for 15% off)
I tried elevating these jeans with black dress booties, a black blazer, and a black tote bag. The outfit was a success! I love to test out new pieces, styling them as many ways as I can to see how versatile they can be in my closet.
5.) Cardigan Sweater + White Blouse + Cargo Jeans + Chelsea Boots
Sweater (gifted, tts) | Shirt (old from Old Navy – similar) | Necklace (gifted) | Bag (gifted, code: MICHELLE_TOMCZAK20 for 20% off) | Jeans | Boots (gifted, I sized up 1/2, code: MICHELLE_TOMCZAK20 for 20% off)
This last look is the most classic of the bunch. You can never go wrong with a cardigan sweater, boots, and jeans. I love all of the different textures here between the sweater, jeans, boots, and bag. Leather, denim and knits for the win!

I purchased the Agolde mid rise loose fit in a 28 (based on your review), and I wear them high and they fit perfectly. Would you recommend I stay with 28 for the Cooper Cargo for the same fit or should I size up. I believe the ruse on these are a little lower…
I love how yours fit on you. I’m looking at the new light tan color they have at Evereve. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi! I am so glad the jeans worked for you! So for the 90s mid rise loose jeans I have size 27 and in the Cooper Cargo I have size 28 and I think they have a similar fitted but slightly relaxed feel. Size 28 is my true size. So I think the 90s loose run big and the Cooper cargo run true to size. Ahhh I haven’t seen the tan! I need to check them out. I’ve been eyeing the tan horseshoe jeans from Citizens of Humanity.
