What is the ABLE Maha Leather Jacket made of?

The leather jacket is made of, you guess it— leather! ha. More specifically, it’s made of 100% lamb leather with a 100% polyester lining. The lamb leather is super smooth, soft, and high-quality. The jacket comes in black, whiskey (warm brown), and slate (taupe).

How does the ABLE Maha Leather Jacket Fit?

My black jacket is the original fit which was fitting small so they recommended sizing up one size. I am a true size medium in jackets, so I got a large and it fits me well. They re-did the fit and now the website says it fits true to size— but if you prefer a relaxed fit or want to wear thicker sweater under it, size up one size. The jacket is made to initially fit slim, and then the leather gives with wear and relaxes.

I recently purchased the whiskey leather jacket in the new fit. I tried my true size medium and it was too short on my arms. I’m 5’7″ and I have long-ish arms and legs for my height. So I sized up one size to large and the jacket fits me great with enough space to layer underneath. If you’re more petite you could probably go with your true size, but if you’re on the taller end you might want to consider sizing up. I do like the newer fit better. There’s a bit more space in the body of the jacket, which I like and you can see that above in the photos of the jackets side by side.

I would describe the style of this jacket as a moto jacket with a classic twist. Some moto jackets can feel more edgy and heavy with belts and buckles and such. This is definitely a cleaner and I would say more feminine design. It’s not too long, the jacket hits at the perfect spot and slightly curves in the back which is really flattering. It’s really versatile and stylistically can honestly be worn with anything.

The Maha Leather Jacket is offered in size XXS – 3X. How great is that?! ABLE went through the process of extending their sizes and now their entire collection of clothing comes in this size range. I love the way that they listen, serve their customers and advocate for all women.

Is the ABLE Maha Leather Jacket worth the price?

For me it’s 100% yes, as can be seen in the fact that after finally purchasing one, I immediately got it in a second color. It’s definitely an investment at $385, but if you browse around for comparable jackets, it’s actually a bit more affordable than similar jackets on the market from bigger brands that do not make their clothing ethically and sustainably like ABLE does. The leather is really high quality and the jacket is classic so it’ll last in your wardrobe for years.

This outfit falls right into my comfort zone— a neutral, casual, everyday outfit. I love the mix of the different materials/textures between the leather, denim, rib-knit, and canvas sneakers. It feels very wearable yet still interesting.

I think this outfit is my favorite of the bunch. It’s a touch more elevated than my everyday style as I work from home, but it still feels really wearable. I love the light netural tones, modern feel of the boots, laid-back feel of the un-tucked shirt, and the interest the plaid brings.
